Product details
Description
Raw textile becomes the main drawing element in this layered abstract. Sections of beige and brown burlap overlap a rough white ground, with folded fabric projecting forward and open mesh revealing the surface beneath. Nothing is trimmed into perfect alignment; the loose fibers and torn-looking edges give the piece its rhythm.
The palette stays close to unbleached cloth, sand and earth, allowing the relief to do most of the visual work. Seen from the side, the raised folds create deeper shadow than a conventional impasto painting. The work belongs naturally with timber, linen and stone, but its strong material presence can also soften a cleaner contemporary room.
